Michael Menkin is the developer of the Thought Screen Helmet a helmet invented by him which he claims stops aliens from being able to read and manipulate thougths. By stopping aliens from reading peoples thoughts he claims that the aliens are less likely to abduct these people.

Menkin became interested in stopping alien abductions after reading books by alien abductees such as Budd Hopkins and others. After years of trial and error research Menkin, a former NASA scientific writer, began experimenting with various materials from aluminum foil which proved worthless to 3M's Velostat. Using people who claimed to be alien abductees he tried out his homemade helmets until he finally got the

results he was looking for.

Menkin is the son of Lawrence Menkin the inventer of the very first science-fiction television program in 1949, Captain Video. It was also science-fiction that led Menkin to develop the helmet to begin with. In the Gray Lensman stories by Edward E. Smith the first Thought Screen Helmets were used in fictional stories.

One June 20, 2005 Menkin was interviewed on the American radio program Coast to Coast telling about his Thought Screen Helmets. He charges people nothing for spending more than three hours constructing a hat. Nice!
